Default End of Nations Guide for Shattered Galaxy Players

A lot of people are still coming here because of their interest in SG. Here's a quick rundown for those unfamiliar with End of Nations.

As your skills and tactical experience grow, you will earn and unlock new units, abilities, and super-weapons to build and customize your ultimate army.

    Similarities to Shattered Galaxy
    • MMO game with RTS gameplay
    • Premade unit squads used to fight and capture points
    • Faction-based war on a world map split into capturable territories
    • Customizable player characters and units
    • Large scale team-based PvP

    Differences from Shattered Galaxy
    • Much larger variety of game types: meaningful PvE, various PvP types, etc. with different control points giving different advantages to the holder
    • Variety of map sizes ranging from 1v1 to 28v28
    • 4 unique player classes (2 per faction) with different units and abilities.
    • Gameplay rewards keeping your current units alive rather than switching throughout the battle
    • No battle advantage is given due to world map (portal stacking, cutting, etc.)
    • Units don't gain levels, only players. Advancement is done through tech trees, not stat points

Oh how I do miss POC's though. This game will be great. You know Trion is going to make an awesome game. But unfortunately it takes time to make greatness.

I watched a movie of some SG play the other day, just to get more of a feel for what you guys are talking about, and I noticed something else that everyone seems to be sort of ignoring. In SG, it appeared that in-between battles, your character, represented by some avatar that you chose, could go for a walk around town, and interact with shops and other players. I'm not fond of busywork that requires me spending a couple minutes wandering around every time I want to buy something or go somewhere, but you can't deny that this could have been used to increase the level of connection you had between yourself and other players in your area who you might chose to meet, have a private conversation with, and ally with. As of yet, I've seen nothing that suggests that in EoN we will have this sort of out of battle shared town/waiting room experience. Just a chat window.
Having experienced the difference firsthand, do you feel this will be a big deal? It may not change gameplay at all, but the social aspect will be different.
I'm also kind of surprised that a game that wants to make it's money off of cosmetics didn't instantly leap onto this idea since customizable avatars would be involved, even if it's all just fluff.
