Well I hope this is what happend, TRION has proven with RIFT they have the development talent !
NO! You can't say that, Sunsp0t. It's PETROGLYPH, not some WOW clone maker.

I'm not a Founder myself (though I wish I was), but I've heard from somewhere that the email said something around the lines of "Open beta is postponed, but you can have either a full refund of Founder's Edition or a green man something blah blah blah".

Trust me, even if they offered me a refund of the game, I would still let them keep my money, because they've worked too hard for this game to just take it back from them.

To be real hounest I'm not impresses with any of petroglyphs work. Most of their games sofar launched with bugs or didn't launch at all. The pathfinding issues during alpha took them ages to fix, well if you can call them fixed. I'm really not impressed ... old westwood or not ...

They're just a small studio consisting of just about a hundred people, not some big multi-billion dollar company with thousands of staff like Blizzard. Not to mention that their games keep getting overshadowed by other, more popular games released at the same time.

I have been a Founder since the first day straight from the site, not some retailer. Did not receive any e-mail yet

I saw someone else post it but here's the email I got.

I also prefer not to have a refund and have them continue to work on it.

I imagine the trion direct purchases will be done last or differently. I do think the refund offer is just a good will gesture due to the delay.

    Hi,

You recently purchased End of Nations: Founders Edition from Green Man
Gaming. We are sorry to inform you that Trion Worlds, the publisher
of End of Nations, have decided to postpone the Open Beta phase of
testing until further notice. Trion Worlds received an incredible
amount of feedback from the Closed Beta tests and now want to make
in-game improvements to ensure that End of Nations delivers on a AAA
    game experience.

We would like to offer you a full refund or Green Man Gaming account
credit to the value of the purchase. Please reply to this email
    indicating which you would prefer.

Thanks for continuing to shop at Green Man Gaming and we hope to see
    you again very soon

    Kind regards,
    Green Man Gaming
    Customer Service

Foremost, I wouldn't be too worried about a cancellation. With the quality of product they currently have, it wouldn’t make sense to cancel the project for a total loss. The game is quite entertaining and relatively polished.

If this is another ‘major remake’: referencing the aesthetic progress from the old Alpha as well as the gameplay progress within the newer Alpha and CBTs, they’re likely employing the same development methodology that companies such as Blizzard seem to use--improve and revise iteratively until your product satisfies a certain threshold (often a threshold that is difficult to achieve).

Ergo, this somewhat sudden halt to EoN progress towards gold may be more reflective of PGs evolving company philosophy rather than of EoN failure or success (EoN may also be PGs first chance to really attempt to implement such a philosophy).

Anyone can implement an iterative procedure, but the more successful companies are able to significantly improve upon each previous iteration. If PG can successfully make significant improvements to what currently exits, I think both the consumers and PG would benefit more.

So to answer your question, "What now?": now we wait and see if the game evolves. (I suspect the development team will be eager to display any exceptional advances they are able to make.)

    Default Greenman Gaming?

what is this? I've never heard of Green Man gaming.

Your letter looks like a "We don't think its gonna happen, and we can't trust ourselves not to spend the money you have in our company if it dose indeed not come out, so if you want your actual money back act now, otherwise all you get in the future is a 'Sorry for the Inconvenience' and a store credit,"

    just my 2c
