    Default artillery question :)

    ok dunno if this has been asked already or not.

    When I read about the cyclops I have the feeling that I should bombard ground/structures instead of units. There are some games where the artillery has that function, and I'm ok with that. to hold ground.
    But will there also be artillery units that olmost always hit their target? and I don't mean mediuml range, but artillery range XD (but then again not like C&C tiberium sun where even if the artillery unit missed it hits :/)

    Yeah,if artillery hits with 100% accurate it will be so op-just like in tib sun(you brought me some happy memories with that game).I don't know if the artillery is very accurate it should be weak for balance and and the other way around.I prefer stronger but inaccurate,but some may say that it will be unrealistic,because modern shells are satelite guided and in the future they will be even more accurate.

    indeed good old memories, but in the expansion they didn't have 100% accuracy, and in my eyes it suddenly lost much of it's potential. I really don't mean that it needs to always hit. But a medium speeded tank should at least get dmg (if I recal correctly, a tick tank that moved could not be hit). I would just feel sad if it was like that that my arty units would just be there to bombard ground to create wall. I kinda hope that if that's the case, there will be a cruise missile carrier, less dmg, slightly less range, but higher accuracy

    and ty for the page of cyclops, but there they say that their skill is ground bombardment, but they don't tell their accuracy

    We have a variety of artillery in the game, but for most of them they work somewhat like what you would expect. They fire at long range. Now, this makes it harder to hit moving targets as well as some of the more aware players - but not impossible.

    well, USN 16''' GPS-guided shells are ready and able to hit with 1.5-5m precision, as well as new ZN/Russian shells for 155/100 guns, respectively, which have impressive precision without correction at all.

    now i wonder if myll erik is just trying to get his post count up more, so unrelated it hurts.

    W;EE is using an interesting system for artillery, no tracking more precise if you have eyes on the target and the like.

    They definitely have a minimum range. At the SF gaming event I was able to devastate enemy aritillery with my fast attack units simply by getting up into point blank range and working them down without them being able to fire at me.
