    Default Unit Idea : Proxy

Here's my idea : a tank modeled after modern supercomputers that can "hack" units

Able to take control over enemy tanks for a set period of times / disrupt base defenses
But only useful for support since its only weapon would be special abilities
very fragile ,but with cloak or teleport.
It could look like it was recently stolen from the Order of Nations (like unfinished camo)

Sorry if someone already had this idea i didnt go throught all the forum posts

it'd be more fitting if it was a humvee or something but I can't see this happening o -o. I mean a commanded that decides to use only these units can basically just take control of all the enemy units and the enemy is screwed (I know that all commanders have the same amount of troop slots...I think so it's possible for 1 commander with full slots filled with these guys to take over the enemies' WHOLE company)...though if it does happen it'll probably be Shadow Revolution who'll control it.

This would be a cool idea. Would a unit that has been taken over become an "enemy?" That way when your own units start going crazy you can destroy them before they do too much damage.

Neat idea - but would that mean you are waiting to hack units at the start of the match?

I would imagine if you used these "proxy" units exclusively you there would be a lot of time and strategy involved in placing them in high traffic areas of the map or getting close to the units you want to control. Sort of like a rogue in MMOs. A lot of your time would be spent waiting or sneaking up on units.

They would have to be in range to use their abilities

Exactly, and it would even be funnier when your artillery would start firing at one "hacked" unit in the middle of your army

A humvee would be too small, supercomputer + power supply + cockpit takes a lot of space
You can't hack infantry / some vehicles could have e-war countermeasures

I like the idea honestly, but seems a bit odd...still it's a unique idea that can add more strategy to the game~

I also like the idea - maybe a small, agile unit that is also stealthy or can somehow mimic the appeaance of another unit. But a hacked unit that would be effectively taken from one side and then used against it can really swing the battlle. Thinking it through, if you did that, you could have a long "hack" time which if the unit was able to leave or remove itself from being in range would reset. Or maybe just something that disables the enemy units? You can have a ashorter "hack" time then and not have such a huge swing in the battle...there would have to be somenotification though to the opposing commander that the units were being hacked as well...

I take it you mean something like masterminds from Yuri's revenge? Used well those could be very effective and I like the way they could be overloaded by controlling too many units at once.

I am not sure how that would work in a game on this scale though. It would be very easy for them to get swamped in larger and whatever limit they had, whether a certain number of units which can be controlled at any one time or something more like the overloading in Yuri's revenge I can not see them being a very effective unit.
