    hi,
    i don't know weather it will be positive suggestion or not but i suggest that there should be separate tactical combat engineers for each of the class...

    surroundings effects: hills,rocks it will be nice if they matter in battlefield

    1:SPARTAN FORCES
    there should be defensive engineers OR tactical units which play a role in dense tactics in making location of battlefield more favorable for their forces troops...for example by creating brick walls in several location behind which we can make our tanks to stand and fight and several defensive battle sectors or posts

    phantom forces:
    there should be tactical unit which disinfect the earth with chemicals etc to make a location more favorable for their units

    wrath forces:tactical unit which create a electrical shield and generater turret in various location to assist their troops unit during fighting .......


    SCOUTS: what about if every heavy unit have his own scouts to spy on his surrounding location

    There was a thread with an idea a lot like this posted here http://forums.endofnations.com/end-n...engineers.html but then again, nobody posted there.

    Anyway shield units are currently being discussed in another thread in regards to your idea for wrath forces and turrets seem to be in game already although I only know of Spartans having access to them (I stay away from gameplay videos because I know it will only tease me more so others might know if SR has their own turret class.

    I don't think scouts should be apart of heavy tanks, that should be left as a separate infantry/helicopter support role - I wouldn't want heavies to be a jack of all trades.

    Finally as for altering the landscape, it would add something to the game but where would you put the limit? Blowing/Repairing bridges? Creating trenches/Large bunkers for mech infantry? Creating holes in hills to allow better tank access? Hmm.. I would rather see how the game turns out before committing to a personal decision.

    I assume the game has a unit that gathers/builds for base construction. Maybe an upgrade would allow it to become more battlefield friendly so that it could venture out with your units and support them in the ways suggested by max.

    And I also believ I have seen game footage with improvements such as bunkers or sandbag revetments and such, the end result being something like the walls your engineers discussed.

    Having said that, if I can maybe change or modify your suggestion, having a unti that would allow hard or defensive structures would be a nice way to change the battlefield in game. Maybe not something as permanent as complete defoliage, but more along the lines of building bunkers, acting as hidden FO, increasing the defensive value of established structures, etc.. Destroying bridges or causeways and planting minefields or the like..It would need to have some sort of countdown timer after a building/area was captured (and held), but what I like about it is it changesd the dynamics of the game in favor of the team holding an area for a period of time...

    There isn't any base building in EoN in the sense you a thinking of, only deployable structures like turrets and support structures. From what we have seen from playing the game at the different gaming events/conventions, and in the information released, is that resources accumulate for both teams, and can be increased by capturing certain resource control points. I haven't seen or heard anything about engineering units per se, although we have seen repair units. Some of the deployable turrets/structures may provide defensive support functions in the way you are thinking, although I can't recall using any in particular at the recent SF gaming day.
