    Default Similarity to C&C factions

New to the forums having only recently (a few weeks ago) discovered this game.

So I started looking at the factions and I already noticed a similarity between these factions and GDI and NOD in the command and conquer universe.

    Lib front = GDI
    Shadow rev = NOD

That is the impression I get. Is that a correct observation? Do they play similarly for those who have played C&C and this game in the alpha or closed betas?

I think there was an article on this, if i could remember it i would link it to you. But it talked about the factions vs the C&C factions, and yes they do look very similar. But when you actually jump into the game they play very very differently. You'll have to adapt if you're used to C&C.

Maybe i'll be able to be more on the offense this time arround? :3

Yeah thats what I keep hearing. I was wondering if they played a lot differently.

Im interested in shadow revolution. However it seems like they don't have anything that can take punishment and survive. Nod had a few things like the avatar warmech that could hulk it out in combat a little bit.

Whats it like only having like 15 units on the battlefield at a time?

Gawd I want to play this soooo bad its been soooo long since I've played a good rts!

The similarities visually and technically are indeed present. However, as I recall on my last play at Alpha. They play differently from expected. There may be slight similarities such as Stealth elements and such but the actual tactics used aren't exactly the same.

Same here. C&C4 was alright from my point of view, but before that, the last one I remember playing is Red Alert 2 :P

    I know,

Thats why I want to play End of Nations, aside from the fact that it's looking to be one of the best RTS games ever

Exactly. I feel that its going to be groundbreaking in the "genre" in fact I think EoN is going to define the genre and bring it back close to the front of gaming.

Are you in a clan? I'm trying to decide if I should look for clans now or when the game gets closer to launch. Right now my focus is on guild wars 2 and my guild there.

I was also reminded of the GDI and NOD factions. The developers may have taken inspiration from them

Since they have invented C&C (petroglyph=westwood), they might have

It is a mix and mach from other games with some original ideas. More over... EoN has more original ideas then re-work of old ideas what I like about it.
