The grand strategy aspect with epic space battles

Nope, the ground combat was awfull

Conclusion:
Its highly recommended, just use auto combat for ground

Agree, the space Battles were great.
Personally I'd compare it more to Imperium Galactica 2. It had those mediocre ground battles, too.

LOL I don't think I've ever gone from cheer to puke mode so fast after experiencing the vast difference of fun between space and ground in that game.

well I really liked the droid ground units of the addon. I really would love to see a SW EAW 2 with a more C&C like ground battle option.

Yeah Just use attack move, kick back with some coke or beer and enjoy the battle for all its glory. I even use this in multiplayer. Needless to say I always loose to focus fire micro players

I really hope petroglyph will do a sequel to Empire at War. They dont need a different story, just better ground combat.

Loved playing the game, especially when I forced all my ships through the asteroid fields to retreat from millennium falcon.

I played the game for the movie mode
Found the Forces of Corruption in Galactic conquest really annoying when you weren't playing them
