It's just a way to advertise the founder's edition product to sell. That's the only reason why game companies these days are dividing their closed beta into multiple sessions.
Dust 514 did it too, although it was more misleading and seemed like a huge bait and switch.
If you want to piss off some people by making free trial closed betas, go ahead.
Was a good fun beta weekend! Really enjoyed it. Thanks for the invite! If i could get in on that Alpha i might have to take a month off for vacation! Anytime, Trion im ready!
Hello, since i took the few minutes to write this for someone asking if they have to download the entire client again for alpha when they aleady ahve beta client i thought id put it in this more frequented thread as well.
"Simply "install" the alpha 35mb instalation and run the launcher, cancel update, copy files from the beta folder into the alpha folder wherever you put it, then in the launcher click the recover button in the bottom right corner, let it run and voila you can play
(you might not even have to use recover if you copy the files before you run the alpha launcher for the first time, but i dont know that for sure and im not going to reinstall just to test it - the above way works though)
So many pages so I'll just ask my question right on.
Basically, if I've signed up for beta, I have no chance of getting an Alpha key?
If that's a case, isn't that a bit like a game (gambling, in a sense). Cruel if that is so.
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows when alpha is supposed to be back up after this beta weekend? I've been so hooked on this game for the past few weeks and now I can't get my fix =P
