Closing the Off Topic Board

I've always wondered why anyone would come here to not discuss EoN in the off-topic board, I didn't see a need for it myself either.

But it has occurred to me that it is an inevitability, that as a community evolves, some people will post off-topic subjects probably because they'd like to target those they know in that community.

I still don't see much of a need in the off-topic section, but if it means that these potential off-topic posts don't find themselves a way into the main forum sections, I think its a good idea.

Weigh the benefits against the cons though, I could understand that the out of place off-topic post thread isn't that much of a threat right now so the additional work moderating the off-topic section may just not be worth it.

The good thing is with an off-topic forum, it allows the community somewhere to mingle and entertain each other while they await new information on the game, or come up with more discussions about End of Nations. It allows traffic to flow to the site in one way or another.

Yet again I do see where you are coming from where it keeps an addition section for supervision/moderation of the community.

Anyway, if its the best for the forums, then I am all for it.

Thanks for understanding folks, we did see that people were having a good time, and that's great, but the decision was to focus on the game itself, at least for now. We're really wanting to do everything possible to get people excited about EoN, so that we all get to enjoy it for years and years to come (not to mention retire to nice tropical islands because it's so successful - j/k of course).

When we get bigger and all, we'll probably revisit the question (and yes, the original posts are all still there).
