I'm not worried about swarms of defenders protecting one chokepoint because of superweapons. Anti-camper weapon![]()
Multiple paths: Having your enemy from several directions at once has created some of the most fun and tense moments in my memories of gaming. Also capping the last point after while the entire enemy team was busy building the Marginot Line on some distant is an incredibly fulfilling experience.
Hi folks,
the question here would rather be what kind of map someone prefer for pvp and what kind of map for pve, since most players enter a pvp match with a different mentality than pve .
In my experience, for pvp it is better to have open maps, maybe with several choke points or multiple path with different terrain, which allow more different strategic decisions, while in pve, usually people rather pick a *steamroll - solution* where they can either camp a single defensive choke-point and/or gather a huge army and roll over the enemy bases one by one on their way for an " easy, casual, relaxing, funny, ... " victory ( which doesn't mean it should be less challenging)
tltr:
pvp : open maps with different terrain. multiple ways and choke-points
pve : more straight forward defensive/offensive based maps with more important key - choke points to either establish or break a defense line.
i don't really have a favorite, it all depends on my mood :P
My thoughts on this topic happen to be the exact same as Dacadarius's above.
I also favor Wide-Open, Multiple paths, and Choke-points. Although If I had to choose only one I'd go for Choke-points, nothing like massive amounts of carnage around a central point slugfest.
